The Department of Studies in the United States (SIUS)
provides orientation regarding the American academic system in areas which include: elementary and high school studies, undergraduate and graduate programs at
colleges and universities, intensive English courses, summer courses, scholarships, international students exchange programs, internships and student life in the United States.

The department has a variety of books, brochures and CD-ROMs available for students to access up-to-date information on the American Academic System.
It also offers private educational advising sessions through which participants can get direct counselling regarding inquiries and application processes at American educational institutions.
Throughout the year, SIUS organizes special events such as: Educational fairs, presentations, conferences and video sessions which offer prospective
students a general approach and orientation on educational programs and financial aid opportunities
available for international students in the U.S. It is also in charge of administering international tests such as: TOEFL iBT, GRE, TOEIC, TSE, ECCE and ECPE.
And provides students with information on: GMAT, CELT, SAT and SLEP, among other examinations.
Additionally, SIUS provides students with orientation on applications for the Fulbright Scholarship Program and international exchange programs such as: AIESEC and AMITY.
Visitors will also find useful information on student visas, study equivalencies, grading conversion tables and document's legalization & translation.

Educational Fair
This annual event gathers many prestigious American schools which prepare exhibits to establish contact between their representatives and the local community interested in pursuing studies in the USA. The fair is held at CEVAZ and offers informative sessions, video exhibits and sales of preparatory material for university admission tests.
Video sessions
For those interested in learning more about the American universities, the department offers a collection of videos for the use of visitors. These videos can be watched in the department at no cost.
‘Study in USA' Presentations
The Department of Studies in the U.S. organizes brief presentations on the American academic system many times a year. These presentations may include the participation of people who have completed English courses, undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral studies in the USA.

Others
Throughout the year, the Department of Studies in the U.S. organizes informational activities on summer camps, intensive English courses and pre-departure orientation sessions for those ready to start studies in the U.S. It also coordinates regular visits for representatives of American universities to have direct contact with local communities for the promotion of their study programs.
